Our design for Siano Cemetery’s Church is the result of a simple concept: the identification and the synthesis of the typical elements of a church like the bell tower, the apse and the altar.
Together with the Italian architect Davide Graniti we approach this challenge without forgetting that our creation has to be a place of recollection and prayer.
We use a raw and brutal language on materials, specially on wood and concrete that we mix together that change their perception based on the type of light that hits them, in fact we manage natural light in different ways like zenithal and grazing. In addition to the visual aspect, we have also taken care of the rituality of the events (like funerals and commemorations) that take place in this place, going to study the methods of access and use of the chapel.
